PFW: Congratulations, Arlington - hope you're happy
The Realm's Department of Friendly Wagers will now take bets on whether or not Jerry Jones is ecstatic that the election was last Tuesday, rather than tomorrow:
Heights vs. Southwest was reminiscent of the old Los Angeles Lakers' "Showtime" offense versus the Detroit Pistons' walk-it-up, slow-it-down, smash-mouth half-court game. Only this time, Showtime was the distributor of the @$$-kicking, rather than the recipient. Ouch.
Heights has Birdville next week in the playoffs. After the assault on their psyche, I'm wondering if they're not one-and-done.
OU's Sooners spotted the Mercenary's minions a 14-0 lead and a screaming Cadet crowd, then roared back in the second half to top the Ags. Mack Brown , you'd best polish up your résumé - it's bad enough that you're utterly incapable of being OU, but now your arse is about to start getting dominated by A&M...and Tommy-boy Hicks won't stand for that. (snicker)
On to the Cowpatties. Y'know, I'm really starting to dislike the town of Cincinnati. First TCU, now Parcells' Pansies.
The Bengals were supposed to have the worst rushing defense in the league. Which, of course, is why Vinny Testaverde couldn't gain six inches on fourth-and-five-inches from the Cincy 21 in the first quarter.
And it went downhill from there. On the second possession, Vinny lost another one of what they're calling "weird fumbles". Keyshawn lost a fumble. Vinny threw three more interceptions.
Remember now - these are Parcells' guys. They're supposed to know how to play the game, and they're supposed to teach the younger guys how to play the game. Perhaps the Cowgirls should skip class a bit more if this is what's being taught.
And now the fair-weather citizens of Arlington have voted to tax themselves in order to build a playground for Jerry Jones and his motley crew of muckridden maggots.
Congratulations, Arlington. What is it with you and your love affair for lame-@$$ed losing franchises, anyway?
The PFW will crank up Wednesday this week, because it's Louisville's turn to expose TCU's Gary Patterson for the pseudo-head-coach he is.
