Tick...tock...tick...
Nothing to report on the job front. The call I was expecting, summoning me to a meeting where I would likely find out I'd been laid off...
...never came.
Why that is, I've no idea. Perhaps I'm farther down the list, and they could only get to so many yesterday.
I'm about to go into a conference call, where hopefully more will be explained. Keep checking this space.
UPDATE: I survived. Just got the confirmation from my manager - our team lost three, and I was not one of them.
Praise God!!! :-D
Interesting thing that came out of the con-call: Apparently, not every person who got laid off yesterday came from the Blue (AT&T Wireless) side of the merger. Normally, since Cingular was the one buying AT&T Wireless, you'd expect that they'd just take the positions from our side that they already had, and dump 'em. I honestly did not expect anyone from the Orange (Cingular) side of the merger to lose his/her job.
