Oh, great - I've been tagged

Well, I can't really say I got blindsided on this one.

The SpatulaGoddess, having been tagged herself with this meme, Reached Out And Slapped™ yours truly with these questions.

As I want to stay on her good side (grin)...I will do this. (sigh)

1. What is the total amount of music files on your computer?

Depends on which computer you're referring to.  I told Beth there were seven gigs' worth - yes, that's right...seven gigs - but that's just the server.  There's close to four gigs on my primary desktop, but a lot of that's redundancy from what's on the server.

2. The last CD you bought is:

No clue.  I think  it might have been Prodigy's "Fat of the Land" or whatever had Breathe  on it.  But don't quote me.

3. What is the song you last listened to before this message?

Um, I think  I listened to Pink's Get The Party Started  late yesterday before getting out of the car...

4. Five songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.

A Split Second's Rigor Mortis  (cool); Toby Keith's Angry American  (pisses the liberals off); the Texas Christian University fight song (I'm a TCU football mark); Stevie Ray Vaughn's If The House Is Rockin'  (always played after every Dallas Stars home win) and Little Texas' God Bless Texas  (as close to an anthem as I get).

5. What's in your vehicle's cd player right now?

A CD I cut myself.  Has the aforementioned Angry American  and Rigor Mortis  on it, plus a lot of other cool stuff.

6. Who are passing the stick to (three people you're sending this to)?

No one.  There's enough spam being tossed about the Internet as it is; I don't need to be adding to it (no offense intended, SpatulaGoddess; I just did this one 'cause you  sent it to me)...
More blog-tweakagery

Okay, click this.

What just popped up is a definition from the Spatula City BBS! glossary.  (Incidentally, have you noticed that clicking on links now opens them in a new window?)

The point has been brought up to yours truly that I was trying to be too much like Misha in my efforts to make my blog more readable to The Six Or Seven Of You Who Still Read Me™.

It's a valid argument...to a point.  My take on it is, nothing succeeds like success - and few blogs have developed the following that Misha has. (Well, with the exception of Daily Kossack, Eschafuck and Demoscummic Underpants...but trust me - I don't want that  audience. (grin))

So what I'm doing is this:  In lieu of the Glossary - which you will still be able to see in its entirety if you wish - I will, from time to time, highlight a word on which you can then click to get an explanation.  A clarification, if you will, on just what I mean when I say something.

You're welcome. (chuckle)
Lensnet news

Those of you who were Spatulaites, Spatulaettes and/or members of the Original Cast™ will remember our little band of merry men in the Fidonet Limbaugh echo called "LENSNET" - a motley crew of defenders who made life miserable to those trolls who didn't wanna abide by the rules of the Echo.

Couple of news items involving Lensnetters have come to the Realm's (read:  my (grin)) attention.

From Denizen David Hartung:

On 20 February, 2005, my third daughter (Katy) will be confirmed as a member in good standing of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. This is an especially joyful event for me, since as a youngster, Katy pretty much rejected the Church, and all it stood for. Some months ago, she began bringing her two kids and attending on a regular basis. I found out, to my amazement, that Katy's problem had never been with the teachings of Scripture, and with the idea that Christ died for our sins, her problem was with some of the things going on in the local church. Now she seems to have resolved those issues, and we will welcome her with open arms!

Not only do we thank and praise God for calling one of his own home, but if the bunch of you can make it, you are invited. If you cannot, please remember Katy and her family in your prayers. At this point, Katy's husband is beginning to show an interest in church, and it seems as if God is beginning to move in his heart.

The Realm™ prays that this is the case, David.

Former Lensnetter Jim Jeffcoat - not to be confused with the former Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach - has a son in Qatar named David.  He reports thusly:

We were able to speak to David yesterday morning on the phone. He is doing well in Qatar. He is staying quite busy during the day, but misses home at night.

He now has an e-mail address. Here it is:  david.jeffcoat@auab.aorcentaf.af.mil

Again, if you prefer regular mail, the address to use is:

SrA. Jeffcoat, David
379 ECES-CEE
APO AE 09309

(A regular stamp is all that is needed, and mail takes a week to 10 days to get there).

Thanks for the prayers and we will keep everyone posted!

Thanks for the updates, guys.  We'll keep your progeny in our prayers.
