PFW: Where did the time go???
Oh geez, I had a whole litany - A LITANY, I TELL YA, SON!!! (/Foghorn Leghorn mode) - about which I was going to write today.
Then all Hell broke loose. Not the least of which was a shipment of back-ordered laptops that I have to process and get out of here.
So much for the mega-post day.
However, I am not going to let that distract me from ramping up to another Perfect Football Weekend. Starting...now.
My Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets take the field tonight against South Hills. South Hills was destroyed by Dunbar a couple weeks ago, 40-7, and Heights did a number on Dunbar last week. I expect a squash here.
Also tonight, my TCU Horned Frogs and their Swiss-cheese secondary will take on the passing game of former Frog coach Pat Sullivan and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. I think TCU's going 4-7 this year, and this ain't one of the four: UAB in a cakewalk, which will leave me in a very bad mood the rest of the weekend.
Oklahoma takes on Kansas State tomorrow afternoon in Manhattan, Kansas. Last time these two played, it was for all the Big XII marbles - and KState absolutely destroyed OU. I don't know if that'll happen again, but I do expect a good game.
Sunday, the Dallas Cowgirls welcome rookie sensation Ben Rothlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers to Texas Stadium. It'll be a warm welcome, too, as Rothlisberger, Plaxico Burress and Antawn Randle-El get to play pitch-and-catch in the Cowgirls' backyard all afternoon.
(Do you get the feeling I'm not terribly high on Dallas this year? Or my prospects for a PFW, for that matter?)
We're back Monday for the recap. In the meantime, as always, it's time to talk football, buddy! (grin)
