Peanuthead strikes again

To look at James Earl "Jimmuh" Carter, one would suppose that one needs to have been royally trounced in an election in order to become an expert on them.

So here's Our Vaunted Elections Expert™, offering up his considered, unvarnished, un-asked for opinion on the upcoming American election:

A repetition of problems that plagued the 2000 US presidential election is likely, former US president and veteran elections monitor Jimmy Carter said, charging that "basic international requirements" for a fair vote are missing in Florida.

Bully for us, Peanuthead.  Best I can recall, we're not conducting this election according to "international requirements".  We're holding this election according to our own  rules, and those rules are good enough, thank you very much.

Reforms passed in the wake of the debacle have not been implemented due to lack of funding and political disputes, Carter observed in a hotly-worded opinion piece in Monday's Washington Post.

"The disturbing fact is that a repetition of the problems of 2000 now seems likely," he said.

Translation:  "Bush is likely to win again!  Oh, noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

"Some basic international requirements for a fair election are missing in Florida," including non-partisan electoral officials and uniformity in voting procedures, he said.

Well, let's see.  I seem to remember that the entire brouhaha in Florida in 2000 had something to do with...yes, it's all coming back to me now...DEMOCRATIC ELECTION JUDGES TRYING TO CHANGE THE RULES OF COUNTING THE BALLOTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTING.  I seem to remember that WE HAD  UNIFORMITY BEFORE THESE PARTISAN HACKS GOT THEIR FILTHY PAWS ON THE PROCESS, JIMMUH!!!

The only problem you  had with the process, Peanut-brain, is that your candidate was unable to steal the election!

Florida's top election official four years ago also chaired the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign in the state, and her successor is showing "the same strong bias," Carter charged.

Translation:  "She's not gonna vote for Qerry!  Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!"

"A fumbling attempt has been made recently to disqualify 22,000 African Americans (likely Democrats), but only 61 Hispanics (likely Republicans), as alleged felons," he said.

Oooooh, we can't have that,  now can we, Jimmuh?  After all, disqualifying felons would cut into the Demoscum core constituency!

Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood has also appeared eager to get independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader on this year's state ballot, "knowing that two-thirds of his votes in the previous election came at the expense" of Democrat Al Gore, Carter went on.

And Cthulu™ knows that the Party of Choice™  can't be bothered to give the voters any.  No sirree, "choice" only counts to Demoscum when it comes to butchering babies, ayup...

"She ordered Nader's name be included on absentee ballots even before the state Supreme Court ruled on the controversial issue," Carter said.

Somehow, Jimmuh, I seriously doubt you had that problem when John Anderson's name appeared on the ballot in 1980, eh what?

"It is unconscionable to perpetuate fraudulent or biased electoral practices in any nation," Carter wrote.

"Unless those practices favor Democrats, like buying votes for cigarettes or getting the dead to vote..."

"With reforms unlikely at this late stage of the election, perhaps the only recourse will be to focus maximum public scrutiny on the suspicious process in Florida."

Translation:  "When Bush wins, we're gonna turn our goon squads loose."
