Oh, Gawd™, this is TORTURE

So I'm on hold with American Express, and I'm being subjected to torture far, far  worse than anything suffered at Abu Ghraib.

For while I'm on hold with Amex, they're subjecting me...to a Muzak™ version of...Air Supply.

AAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

PFW:  Are you ready for some football???

A little bit of public announcement before we get started here with this week's Perfect Football Weekend.

These PFW posts have traditionally gotten very little in the way of comments.  Don't let the fact that I track my four teams here prevent you from talking about your teams, as well.  This post is for all football fans to talk the great game; if you don't follow my teams, then talk about yours.  This is where "c'mon, let's see whatcha got" takes on a whole new meaning. (grin)

Let's get on with this week's games.

My Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets started without me last night, beating OD Wyatt, 14-0.  This looks to be a rollercoaster year for Heights, which reminds me of the year after we advanced to regionals back in 1980.  The year after, we went 5-5, and if memory serves, it was the same thing - win, lose, win, lose, etc.  Won't be that much fun if that's the case, because next week, they have Western Hills - and we hate  losing to Western Hills.

Tomorrow, TCU is at home for the conference opener against the University of South Florida.  No, the Lady's residence notwithstanding, there's no conflict here - I want TCU in a squash.  But the Froggies barely squeaked by USF last year, 13-10, so this isn't a gimme.

Oklahoma...is off this week. (shrug)

And Monday night, the dulcet tones of Hank, Jr. will grace my TV, as the Cowboys renew their rivalry with the hated Washington Redskins.  Joe Gibbs is back as coach, and that means that the 'Skins will be better this year than in recent years.  IOW, this rivalry is ready to grow white-hot again, just like it used to be in the '70s.
