The case of the cowardly RINO from Nebraska
Most of you guys know of my affinity for Nebraska. My best friend, while not born there, lived a good portion of his life in Grand Island, and it's his adopted home. And his love of Nebraska football rubbed off on his best friend. (grin)
But Nebraska's on my **** list right now, if you know what I mean. First, after they finally (FINALLY!!!) fired Frank Solich for three years of substandard coaching...instead of giving the job to defensive coordinator Bo Pelini or quarterbacks coach Turner Gill, they decided to tap failed Oakland Raiders coach Bill Callahan. (All you need to know about Callahan's coaching ability can be summed up in last year's preseason game against Dallas: Oakland 3, Cowboys 52.)
Now it looks like one of their Congresscritters has decided that - now that he's retiring and can go hide behind his pension, rather than have the gonads to face his constituents again - he's gonna go work on the plantation of Buffet Man and his sidekick, Botox Boy. Conveniently ignoring all the evidence about Saddam Hussein's atrocities and the fact we've found part of his WMDs, outgoing Nebraska Congressfool Doug Bereuter now as much as says we should've left Saddam where he was:

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Doug Bereuter now says it was wrong for the United States to go to war in Iraq.
The Republican representative for Nebraska's 1st District has sent letters to some constituents telling them that he has changed his mind about the war.
"Dear Constituents: Now that I don't have to suck up to your hegemonic and jingoistic worldview, I can let my hair down and tell you what to go do with yourselves."
"I've reached the conclusion, retrospectively, now that the inadequate intelligence and faulty conclusions are being revealed, that all things being considered, it was a mistake to launch that military action, especially without a broad and engaged international coalition," he wrote.
"I've seen Fear and Hate 9/11, and I want to kiss Michael Moore's weenie.
If I can find it, that is."
Bereuter, who will retire Aug. 31, voted in 2002 to give President Bush authority to launch a military action in Iraq.
Bereuter, who is taking a job with the Asia Foundation in San Francisco, was traveling Wednesday and was unavailable for comment.
Probably scoping out the local bathhouse, y'know?
He expressed his new view on the war in a letter that a spokesman said was sent Aug. 6 to constituents who had contacted him over the last two years about military action in Iraq.
"Oooooh, and look! I'm just sooooo loved in Tinseltown now!!! And Natalie Maines says she wants to go out with me!!! I just wonder why she keeps calling me 'Earl'..."
His staff declined to say how many of the letters were mailed.
Don't blame 'em. If I were that embarrassed by my boss, I think I'd try to clam up, too.
Bereuter represents much of southeastern Nebraska, including Lincoln.
Now this is a flat-out lie. Benedict Bo-honkus doesn't represent anyone but himself. And maybe all the people with tinfoil hats on their pointy heads.
"I felt I should send you a forthright update of my views and conclusions on that subject before I leave office," he wrote.
There's your next clue, right there, that he's all but admitted that he's a RINO at best, and a traitorous scumbag who's all but switched his party at worst: He felt.
"Feeeeeeeeewwwiiiiings...woah woah woah feeeeeeeewwwwwwiiiiiiings..."
Here's a Clue, Benedict Bo-honkus: Liberals feel. Conservatives think. You might do well to remember that.
In his letter, Bereuter chided the Bush administration for not adequately preparing to take over Iraq after the first military strikes.
"Our country's reputation around the world has never been lower and our alliances are weakened," he wrote.
Like we give a flying flip about what France & Germany - that is what you mean by "around the world", right, Benedict? - think about us?
Bereuter has been a strong proponent of international cooperation during his 26 years in Congress.
News flash: "International" means just a weeeeeee bit more than "France, Germany and Kofi Decaf".
Bereuter said he voted for the war resolution in October 2002 largely because of the possibility that Saddam Hussein's Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and could share them with terrorists.
Yet even at the time, Bereuter asserts in his letter, he questioned whether "incontrovertible evidence" showed a link between Saddam and al-Qaida, despite "the intimations of various administration leaders like Vice President Dick Cheney."
Guess what, Benedict? The 9/11 Commission has already established that there was one. Even without that - have you ever heard of a place named "Salman Pak"? You know, the place where they had a 707 kept for the purpose of training hijackers?
Like the ones who rammed the World Trade Center, you moron?!?!?!?!
As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, Bereuter was involved in re-examining intelligence conclusions.
"Knowing now what I know about the reliance on the tenuous or insufficiently corroborated intelligence used to conclude that Saddam maintained a substantial WMD arsenal, I believe that launching the pre-emptive military action was not justified."
"Looky, folks, I saw that movie, and Michael Moore is suuuuure a cutie, so I'm going to believe him instead of looking at the facts."
In his letter, Bereuter said belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction factored into much of Bush's congressional support for military action.
That "belief" was borne out, Benedict! We have the mass graves and the sarin and mustard gas shells to prove it, you freakin' idiot!!!
Among the other members of Congress who supported the resolution is Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate. Kerry said recently that he would have voted to allow the use of force in Iraq given what he knows today.
"The world is no doubt safer from attack and subversion now that Saddam has been removed from power," Bereuter wrote.
No thanks to beef-witted Moore-felching retards like you, Benedict.
But he expressed worry about what's ahead for Iraq and the United States.
"Now we are immersed in a dangerous, costly mess and there is no easy and quick way to end our responsibilities in Iraq without creating bigger future problems in the region and, in general, in the Muslim world," he wrote.
Surely not as long as we have traitorous parroting surrender-simians like you in Congress and on every TV show in the land.
Fortunately for Nebraska, the mistake that was sending you there in the first place is about to be rectified.
Appeasement gasbag...
