Blog-link-replacery and other ellipsi...

In addition to getting whacked upside the head with the Lord's ClueBat™ about the excessive anger, He's also pointed out to me other areas of the blog that could use some sprucing up.

Such as the List of Links, for example.

You will notice that the Unablogger is gone.  God impressed on me that the fewer naked wimmen not my wife I look at, the better.  Not to mention that it would make the Lady extremely happy.  So - adiós, Unablogger.

In his place is Loyal Citizen Humble Devildog, who is doing a nice job over at Random Firings of Neurons.  He's definitely worth a look.

'Specially since he put me so high up on de blogroll. (chuckle)

In addition to the comments, I've had some very kind email responses to my decision of this past weekend.

One of those emails came from (to me, anyway) the most unlikely and unexpected of sources - Ludis.

Yeah, Ludis.  Same guy who gave me one of his "awards" about six weeks ago.  That  Ludis.

Hmf.  Most interesting, no?

Anyway, thanks to all you guys for your kind words.  They're appreciated on this end.

And to those of you thinking I'm going to communicate less effectively somehow because of the change in attitude..."let not your heart be troubled", as Hannity would tell you.  The opinions haven't changed - just the tone in which they're being delivered.

We do, after all, still specialize in calling a spade a spade around here. :-)

Demoscum calling out their lawyer goons

They scream about First Amendment rights - until you try saying something that happens to gore their particular oxen, then they try to shut you up.  Not quite as gung-ho about freedom of speech when said speech rips your candidate a new one, are you,  Terry McAwful?

The organization Swift Boat Vets For Truth has created an ad in which several Vietnam veterans who served with Botox-boy (though not necessarily on his same swift boat) rip him a new one and tell America he's not fit to be the Commander-in-Chief.

Naturally, the Demoscum can't have the truth about their boy coming out, so they're trying to strong-arm TV stations into not showing the ads.  They're using their lawyer goons, which strongly suggests to me  that a SLAPP suit is not long off. (For the Uninitiated, SLAPP stands for "Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation".  It's a lawsuit designed to harass someone who has something to say into being quiet...the theory being that said target doesn't have the resources to defend against such a suit.)

The Demoscum can dish it out when it's Dubya and his non-story DWI 30 years ago - but turn it around on them and they get a little huffy, don't they?

Well, I can't speak for the Swift Boat Vets, but there's at least one person in America who doesn't fear smarmy little ambulance-chasers in pinstripes.

That link above that goes to the ad?  It's going right underneath the banner, or whereever I can put it so that you always see it when you bring up this page - and it's going to stay there until 11/3/2004, and maybe beyond.

Demoscum, you wanna take your goons and play hardball with me?

Bring it on.  I'm  not afraid of you.

Scenes we'd like to see...

...from a fantasy Tom Ridge press conference.  With the appropriate apologies to Mad  magazine. :-)

Mike at Coldfury has ripped the Demoscum several brand new ones, ala Vice-President Cheney to Patrick "Leaky" Leahy.

This one is worth your time to read.

The death mellowing out of Lord Spatula

"ALL RISE!!!"

The population of the courtroom stood as one in deference as the honored Jurist entered the chamber.  Assuming His seat on the bench, He motioned for the gathered throng to be seated.

"Bring in the accused."
