Grab-bag:  Cuban-Americans v. Mikey Moron

Today's tidbit comes courtesy of the beloved Lady Spatula:  A letter from a Cuban expatriate to Mikey Fatfuck:

Mr. Michael Moore,

The above comment from your "letter" to Elian Gonzalez, appears to be the only one in the entire document that is remotely accurate and based on fact, not propaganda, ignorant speculation or falsehoods.

I am Cuban American, or what you refer to as "ex-Cubans". I was born in Cuba, arrived here when I was two years old and am extremely proud to be a full fledged American, enjoying and not abusing all of my freedoms and all things American.

I thought of answering every baseless, irresponsible remark in your letter, however, expecting you to absorb that much fact based information, would be like expecting a glass marble to absorb a bucket full of water. An impossible task.

What is sad, is that through your films, you have the opportunity to reach millions of people with the truth, which is addressed at times but lost in your self serving, hype filled agenda.

I may not agree with things you say, but as an American I would fight to defend your right to say so. However, you are a hypocrite of epic proportions sir! If as you say, things in Cuba aren't so bad other than for the little details that you can't elect anyone freely nor enjoy any basic human rights, then perhaps you should relocate there and experience for yourself, how "freely" a film maker in Cuba would be allowed to make a film critical of the government and it's tyranical, dictator president. You wouldn't be allowed to of course. However, if somehow you managed to make it, and it got out, you wouldn't get paid or receive royalties. You would serve a term of about 20 - 30 years for the horrible crime of expressing your opinion and beliefs.

Again, even if I don't agree with much of what you say, I would respect you more if once you receive the millions of dollars you will make with your most recent film, you give it all away to the "people" of America, the poor, the homeless, the infirmed and then, you keep about 150 bucks a month, like most people in Cuba make including film makers. But just by looking at the circumference of your waist and the pelican pouch hanging from you chin, you must spend $150 a week at McDonald's or one of the other fine American fast food chains. You know... one of those corporate entities which you love to knock but must love to eat at.

Please, before you write, speak or make a film regarding any subject, be fair, make an honest attempt to gather some factual information to support your views and remarks. Try for example actually meeting someone who is Cuban American, and listen. Listen! I think you are too enamored with the sound of your own voice spewing whatever clever thoughts and beliefs are are bouncing around in your head to actually want to consider anything that would get in the way of... well... YOU!

Mr. Moore, if I were Elian Gonzalez, and as you say in your letter he does return to the United States when he turns 18, I would want to meet you and thank you for taking the time for being so concered about me and writing such a well thought out, albeit baseless letter. Then sir... I would proceed to kick the crap out of you for insulting, mocking and degrading my mother!!!

A few years ago during the Elian situation, I remember an interviewer asking Andy Garcia a question about the whole Elian "tragedy". Andy's response was... "the tragedy is that people have to get on a raft in the first place!". Mr. Moore, unless you can relate to one day, waking up in the morning, and your best option that day is sticking your family on anything that floats in order to attempt making it across the Gulf of Mexico, for freedom, survival and quality of life, and knowing that even if you don't make it or even perish, it's a better option than staying where you are, unless you can relate to that, which obviously you cannot Mr. Moore, please, try, as hard as it may be for you, to not speak or write about things that you have absolutely no knowledge of.

I wish you continued success with your farenheit/911 film. I considered going to see it but if your letter is any indication, I would rather wait for the next Barney the purple dinosaur movie, it may be more truthful, informative and realistic.

P.S. A couple of tips... try to be well informed, because if not, you may come across as severely ignorant and... stay away from the Big Macs buddy!
