Weekend wrapup, or, Catching up...
Last-minute dinner invites are sometimes the best kind.
I'd been out all day, getting the truck worked on (nothing major, just an oil change) and then being reminded yet again how a certain trollop east of here ruined my credit to the point that I can't yet trade in said truck for a Mustang (but that's another post), then snagging some groceries and heading home to enjoy a nice bowl of chili...
Yeah, I know - run-on sentence. Sue me. (grin)
...when I check out the latest comments and find a DIRECTIVE, DAMMIT! from the Emperor: Check my email.
"Which one?", I ask myself, "after all, he only has about sixteen of the seventeen addys I've got..."
I go to my Pride 'n Joy - the 1.5 Dell P4 with 2 gigs of memory that is so packed with stuff it thinks by itself, mheh...
...and there it is: An invite to the du Toits for evening munchies (read: dinner).
One thing about Crager males: We can be bribed with mass quantities of food... (chuckle)
Anyway, after generous helpings of everything from tamales to antipasto to roasted chicken (plus abundant quantities of adult beverages (mheh)), everyone, myself included, got to hold court for at least five minutes - live blogging, if you will, complete with live commenting.
Most fun. Didn't start for home until roughly 3 a.m. The du Toits know how to throw a party, lemme tell ya. Thanks again, Kim & Connie.
Sunday was spent catching up on chores & sleep (and not necessarily in that order), followed by an afternoon of frying chicken for the sibling unit as recompense for him caring for my dog for the three weeks I was in Miami. Damn, I'm glad I inherited the cooking genes from our mother. (grin)
