I knew you wouldn't believe it unless I showed you...



(For the Uninitiated - I'm in Dallas, and we don't get this very often.)

Now, from the Grab Bag today comes my recipé for Snow Ice Cream:

2 or 3 gallons snow
2-3 cans condensed milk (evaporated or even whole milk will do in a pinch)
1/3 bottle of vanilla extract and/or 1-1/2 jars of your favorite jam
1-2 cups sugar

Go to a car or other clean surface - I know that's hard for you Jersey types - and take a big 2-gallon bowl and fill 'er up with snow.  Resist the temptation to have a huge honkin' snowball war. (grin)

Back in the house, mix the condensed milk and the sugar in with the snow.  Be careful not to get snow everywhere.

Add in vanilla extract and/or jam to taste.  Makes enough for about 4 or 5 good-sized bowls - or one massive stomach-ache if you try to eat it all yourself...(ow)


UPDATE:  As a result of this massive blizzard (cough), our power company, TXU Electric, is having a major fit.  Since last night, we've had nearly a dozen seperate power outages - and when the power's on, it ain't on very long.  In fact, I'm writing this update on the laptop under battery power and my GPRS wireless connection (being a techie where I'm at has its benefits (grin)).  So don't look for much else from this keyboard today, mmmkay?
