Tell us something we don't know...
From the Department of "Well, DUH!!!"...
I suppose it should be earth-shattering, press-stopping, Second-Coming-type-print news that they even admitted it at all. But the best comeback I can think of right now is, "NAW!!! Realllllly???"
ABC - what some would consider the godfather of the liberal media - has finally admitted that...um...theyyyyyy...leantotheleftabit.
On the ABC site's must-read "The Note" section, prepared by the network's "political unit," was the following, and we quote verbatim:
"Like every other institution, the Washington and political press corps operate with a good number of biases and predilections.
You don't say...?!
"They include, but are not limited to, a near-universal shared sense that liberal political positions on social issues like gun control, homosexuality, abortion, and religion are the default, while more conservative positions are 'conservative positions.'
Well, I knew it was too good to be true. They're even soft-pedaling this.
Got news for you, MouseButt: To you, conservative positions are "extremist", "reactionary", "right-wing", "wingnut", "knee-jerk", "simplistic", "over-the-top", "divisive"...and then there are the old standbys - "racist", "sexist", "bigoted", "homophobic", et al.
"They include a belief that government is a mechanism to solve the nation's problems;
...never mind that government can't even solve its own problems; never mind that there are some problems which not only don't need a government solution, but become exacerbated when government sticks its ugly nose into the mess...and certainly never mind that Johnny "One-Note" Goverment's solution to any problem is to throw money at it. Never mind that it might be our money which we might not want thrown at it; never mind that it usually won't solve the problem in the first place - when all you have is a hammer, the entire world looks like a nail.
that more taxes on corporations and the wealthy are good ways to cut the deficit and raise money for social spending and don't have a negative affect on economic growth;
...never mind that no nation anywhere, at any time ever taxed itself into prosperity; never mind that you could tax every single person making more than $1 million annually at 100% and only be able to run the government for about six months...naaaaaah, just keep on raising those taxes!!!
Right, John-boy Fuckface KetchupAss?
and that emotional examples of suffering (provided by unions or consumer groups) are good ways to illustrate economic statistic stories...
...never mind that said "examples", in nearly every single case brought their suffering upon themselves. Paul "The Rest Of The Story" Harvey, these pisspots ain't.
"The press, by and large, does not accept President Bush's justifications for the Iraq war – in any of its WMD, imminent threat, or evil-doer formulations.
That's quite alright, morons. The American people - while, admittedly, not quite as educated as yourselves, are far more intelligent as a result - do. And we support him for what he's done in the War on Terror.
Sticks in your craw, doesn't it, dumb fucks?
It does not understand how educated, sensible people could possibly be wary of multilateral institutions or friendly, sophisticated European allies.
Well in the first place - one, they're not friendly; two, they're not sophisticated; and three, they're not necessarily our allies.
If that's your idea of either, ABC, I'd have to seriously question your sanity - which, in case you haven't been paying attention, is exactly what I'm doing. Simply calling them our "allies" doesn't make them so - I can call myself an Edsel all day long and you don't see me housed in a garage at night, do you?
"It does not accept the proposition that the Bush tax cuts helped the economy by stimulating summer spending.
Yeah, that 8.2% third-quarter increase last year came about by crossing your fingers a lot and chanting "there's no place like home, there's no place like home", didn't it?
"It remains fixated on the unemployment rate.
...which continues to go down - oh, but you don't want anyone to know about that, shhhhhh...!
"It believes President Bush is 'walking a fine line' with regards to the gay marriage issue, choosing between 'tolerance' and his 'right-wing base.'
Y'know, I'd almost agree with you on this one - except you want me to say that it's okay, and I'm never going to say that. I want an absolute ban on that little perversion.
"It still has a hard time understanding how, despite the drumbeat of conservative grass-top complaints about overspending and deficits, President Bush's base remains extremely and loyally devoted to him –
I wouldn't think that, necessarily. We haven't ruled out staying home in November. But, as bad as Bush has been on some things, your alternative - John-boy Fuckface KetchupAss - would be even worse.
and it looks for every opportunity to find cracks in that base.
It's simple, really, morons. Give us another Reagan, and see how quickly we leave W in our wake. Oh, but that'd be too much to ask, wouldn't it...?
It's like this, ABC: We're conservatives first, then we're Republicans. We believe in limited government, low taxes, the right to defend ourselves through the possession & maintenance of firearms, English as the primary language of this country, marriage defined as one man and one woman for one lifetime, life defined as that which begins at conception, education that teaches the basic skills needed to thrive in our culture (rather than teaching self-esteem), a drug-free culture, high morals in society, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and allowing free worship of Him(among other things). Not necessarily in that order, either.
If you can come up with a candidate who holds those values dear, isn't willing to compromise on them with Teddy the Red-Nosed SOB and Terry "Global Crossing" McAuliffe, I wouldn't give a shit if he had a "D" by his name. I'll vote for a Democrat if it can be demonstrated that said Donk is more conservative than the Republican alternative. We're not automatons, much as you Fifth Columnists would like to think we are.
Now tell us something we didn't already know.
And then there were five...
Six Donk candidates
Looking...well...sorta alive
General Clark surrendered
And then there were five
Well, actually...there are really only two-ahd-a-half. Kucinich couldn't be president of Rhode Island; Sharpton couldn't be president of Harlem, and Dean has one foot in the political grave.
Which leaves us with Senator Edwards...and J. Fuckface KetchupAss, aka "Hanoi John". A political novice...and an anti-war, anti-military, anti-American gigolo.
I'm liking our odds more and more all the time...
