Kobe ain't lovin' it

The fallout continues over the rape allegations against Kobe Bryant. Mickey D's has dropped its endorsement deal with him. This on the heels of Ferrero of Italy (Nutella Chocolate Spread - whoever they  are) dropping him.

But it's this paragraph which leaves me incredulous:

Bryant's once-wholesome image has been damaged since a 19-year-old woman accused him last year of sexual assault. Bryant admitted committing adultery but contends the sex was consensual.

Bryant's once-wholesome image???
I seem to remember that li'l Kobe came into the league as some sort of high-school bad-ass gangsta thug.  Did I miss a staff meeting or something where this changed? What's with this wholesome  shit?

Seems to me that Kobe's simply reverting to type, that's all.

Great News!!!

Noise pollution levels went down 10 percent today.

John Kerry lost his voice.

Mheh.

Rush is right, again

All together now: HOW 'BOUT THEM BEAGLES?!?!!!

Yes, sportz fanz, The World's Greatest Ever NFL Quarterback In The History Of Ever, Ever!!! had his head handed to him by the Carolina Panthers - a team that was only 1-15 two years ago.

Phuckadelphia is, in fact, the only team in NFL history to lose two consecutive NFC Championship games in which they were the home team, and the first team since the Cowboys to lose three consecutive NFC Championship games.

Breaks. My. Freakin'. Heart. BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...!!! (snort)

So the Panthers will play the New England Pansy-Asses in the Super Bowl. The Pansies once again got help from the refs yesterday (several obvious penalties, including a clear pass-interference penalty on 4th down during the Colts' last possession, and an obvious helmet-to-helmet personal foul early in the fourth quarter didn't get called). Colts quarterback Peyton Manning didn't help things any, tossing four interceptions.

I'll watch the Super Bowl, but since I don't really have a dog in this fight, I think I'll pull for the officials. ("Throw that flag!!!" "Call that penalty!!!" "Spot that ball!!!" (grin))

Holiday? What holiday?

Today is Monday, January 19th, 2004.

And, after hitching a ride (my clutch died, but that's another story), I'm here at work.

Holiday? What holiday? It's not a holiday to me. I have to work today.

MLK day? Look, I admire Martin Luther King for the speech he made. He had it right - content of the character rather than the color of the skin.

When the rest  of the black community gets it, instead of trying to throw their skin color in my face all the time, then  I'll consider venerating him.

UPDATE: Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily has an excellent column on what Dr. King was really  talking about. I'd suggest you give it a read.
