Mission accomplished

The Demoscum's pet terrorist & fugitive, Saddam Hussein, is ours. The 4th Infantry Division of the US Army, a unit which has suffered more than its fair share of attrition during this war, captured the Butcher of Baghdad last night about 8:30, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News.

"Ah, but what's this have to do with the Demoscum, m'Lord?", you're saying.

Glad you asked. You did  know he was the Demoscum's favorite terrorist and talking point, right behind Osama bin Laden, didn't you? Donk after Donk has taken President Bush to task for the military's supposed ineptness in not being able to find and capture Hussein.

Fact is, this has been a horrible last few weeks for the Demoscum*. What few issues they have left are being systematically removed:

• The economy - massive improvements last quarter, huge forecasts for next year, the Dow now over 10,000, just in time for the elections

• The overhaul of Medicare. Yes, I'm well aware that we can't afford it, especially the seniors' prescription benefit. And it probably cost Bush some votes next year. But it's yet another issue that the Demoscum can't use in the '04 campaign.

• The evidence that yes, there is  an Iraq - Al-Qaida link.

And now Hussein. And once we find the Tora Bora cave where bin Laden's DNA is splattered against the wall, it'll be Game, Set, Match for the Demoscum.

Not that it isn't now... (snicker)

UPDATE: *Let me expound on that a little bit. If you're a liberal Democrat, you have to be on suicide watch right about now. Every weapon you'd planned on using against Bush in '04 - at least, judging by that about which I've heard your excuses-for-candidates whining - has been rendered inert, impotent, useless. Your candidate's chances for the White House in '04 - even if it's HITLARY!!! - are now less than zero. The question now is not who'll win the election...the question is whether your candidate (Deanie?) will so much as carry one state.

You bastards in the Demoscummic Party are about to see your party utterly destroyed. Everything for which you've worked so hard - poof, gone. Toast. Fini.  You're about to find out firsthand how we felt for 40 years while you ran roughshod over us in Congress. In other words, you're about to become the underwhelming minority, unable to even stop filibuster or cloture.

Think of it, you dumb-assed Donks. Us, ramming our legislation through at breakneck speed. You, unable to stop us. Unable to deny Bush his judicial choices any longer. Unable to filibuster our pro-life legislation. Unable to stop our tax cuts. Unable to destroy our economy any further.
