PFW: Cinderella chokes, carriage turns back into pumpkin, film at 11

Well, everything broke right for me this weekend. Even Nebraska helped out - turns out they don't play Colorado until next  week.

And TC-friggin'-U screws everything up even before we can get started:

TCU 28, Southern Piss (no typo) 40
Forney 52 Carthage 22
Dallas 24, Carolina 20

Dallas got the expected win at home. I had predicted to my brother that, if Dallas controlled the Panther front four, they'd win a close game. They did, and they did.

Forney is one of the 10 best football teams in the state, regardless of classification. They showed it in the area round versus Carthage. Shame that Everman's been eliminated (NOT!!! BWAH-HAHAHAHAHA...! (snort)) - this might have been the year that the Jackrabbits took the ball and shoved it up Everman's ass. (sigh)

Memo to TCU: Southern Piss...ain't. That. Good.

In other words: You. Choked.

One play turned the game, and it's not the one you might think (for those of you who saw the game): First quarter, scoreless, third-and-three from the S. Piss four. Two plays to get three yards, then four shots at the end zone from the 1.

TCU has 6'6", 6'7" and 6'3" from left tackle to center, at at combined weight of 968 pounds.

Nine. Hundred. Sixty. Eight. Pounds.

So you'd think  they'd pound the ball on the left side for three or four straight plays, right?

You'd be wrong.

On third down...they pass.

Long story short...blitz, incompletion to avoid the sack, field goal, field goal on the next possession. Eight points they should have had, and gave away.

With those eight points, they don't give up the nine they did at the end of the game. They put Southern Piss in the unenviable position of having a Frog foot on their throats. They rob the Pissers of any confidence they might have gained in stopping the Frogs. And they win.

Gary Patterson, if he's ever gonna prove to us that he's a Division I football coach (he hasn't yet, at least not to me), is going to have to hire himself an offensive mind. Someone who knows when to run, and when not to throw.

So. No BCS for TCU. They don't even win their conference championship. They have to settle for a third-tier bowl game in Mobile (yawn), Alabama.

The Frogs have SMU on Saturday for the Iron Skillet game. SMU is 0-11, and has not been competitive in the slightest. Baylor could whip these pansies.

If Patterson is any kind of head coach, this had DAMNED WELL BETTER be the squash of the season. It had best be the Mother of All Routs.

You have your marching orders, Patterson. Get your ass to work.

Thatisall.
