PFW: Losing to the Pansies

Look, I'm well aware that there are not going to be any more PFWs this season. Especially  with Nebraska going to Colorado this week. (Remember I said before the Kansas game that Nebraska may have won its last game already? Trust me on this - they don't win again this year. Frank Solich has, hopefully, coached his last win at NU.)

But each of the three losses through which I suffered this weekend - yes, Denizens, I had a losing record this weekend - were to teams that my guys should  have beaten:


Arlington Heights 14, North Crowley (North Crowley???)  28
TCU 43, Cincinnati 10
Nebraska 9, Kansas State 38
Dallas 0, New England Pansy-Asses 12


What is it with Arlington Heights and the playoffs? They played a six-year-old school making its first  playoff appearance. And gave them all 28 of their points with two fumbles, and interception and a muffed punt.

I expected better things from a 10-0 team, Coach Duke Christian...

Now for Nebraska. Yeah, it was Kansas State, and KState is damned  good. But NU was at home, where they usually  don't lose - not even to KState.

Frank Solich is starting to feel major heat up there. Talk is now focused on whether he comes back next year. The guess from here is that he doesn't, especially if Colorado wins it's third straight from the Huskers next week.

Folks, I'm sorry. The New England Pussies are Not. That. Good.

Yeah, they're 8-2. Yeah, they've got an adequate defense. That is, when they're not gooning it up. They committed several infractions last night for which Dallas would've been called...and was, if memory serves.

Bottom line: Make the Pansies play by the rules, and they're just another AFC wussy.

I was starting to have a little more confidence in Quincy Carter. Now, I'm not so sure. And it's a fact that Troy Hambrick is not the answer at running back. If not for the defense, we'd be looking at yet another 5-11.

On to TCU. Yeah, they gave up some big plays. Yeah, they still need to improve their tackling.

But I'm starting to think that few teams make halftime adjustments as well as TCU. Cincy didn't get so much as a sniff in the second half.

The Frogs play for the C-USA championship Thursday at Southern Miss. Southern Miss played Nebraska tough earlier in the year - now I'm beginning to think that spoke more to Nebraska's ineptness, rather than Southern Miss' talent level.

We'll see when we launch another bid for the PFW next week.
