PFW: It's a tossup...
I like my odds for a PFW this weekend a little more than last, but it's still not a gimme.
My Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets play the North Side Steers tonight, and if there's ever a squash casserole in the making, it's here. North Side is flat-out horrible, and if Heights loses to these bozos, I'm calling for coach Duke Christian's head.
Saturday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are at home for a Big XII showdown versus Texas A&M. This is a "double whammy" game for me, as Nebraska takes on the secondary role of being a team that opposes Coach Mercenary, Dennis Franchione. *spit*
TCU is at home in a Conference USA matchup against the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Scary game, but the UAB offensive coordinator is former TCU head coach Pat Sullivan - and his offenses are typically (if his stay at TCU was any indication) less prolific than last year's Dallas Cowboys.
Speaking of which, they are on the road Sunday against Joey Harrington and the Detroit Lions. Detroit barely beat the 'Boys last year, but they're not all that much better this year, due to one of their key offensive players (Charles Rogers) being out with an injury. Meanwhile, the Cowboys bandwagon is beginning to roll. It may not be pretty, but I fully expect the Cowboys to handle Detroit with ease.
And with that, we put the blog on Cruise Control, load up the Grab Bag and set it on standby, and head out to do chores. Amazing how much easier it is to keep a place clean when 34-year-old doublewide bitches aren't around to perpetually mess things up... (snicker)
