Legit charges...or a setup...?

Last week, as you'll recall, I pontificated on the under-the-counter drug charges leveled against Rush Limbaugh.

Well, it's starting to look as if those charges were bogus, as I had thought. Looks like Rush was set up, and it looks as if these slimeballs might be targeting Sean Hannity next:

After Asner told him that he enjoyed jousting on the air with right-wingers, Gallagher said the Hollywood radical warned cryptically, "Well, Hannity's next, you know."

When asked what he meant, Asner allegedly explained, "We're going after your buddy Hannity just like we went after Limbaugh this week - and look what happened to Rush."


So there you have it. Ed Asshole's latest role is as a liberal mafia don, thinks he's gonna "rub 'em out".


Apprised of the alleged threat, Hannity invited Asner on his show Monday to see if he'd confirm his comments.

When confronted with Gallagher's account, Asner at first denied making the threat. But in the next breath he told Hannity, "I think [Gallagher] probably was - ah - perhaps enlarging [what I said]."


You'll pardon us if we don't believe that, Ed Asshole. After all, we're not as prolific at lying as you Demoscum are.


Asked to clarify what he said to Gallagher, Asner said: "I can't remember. It wasn't that important."


Senility will do that to you, old fucknozzled geezer.


When Hannity reminded Asner about a previous interview where he attacked Limbaugh off the air in a particularly offensive manner, the Hollywood has-been claimed, "I was kidding."

In the next breath, however, Asner hinted that the Limbaugh drug story was a planned act of retaliation, telling Hannity in sarcastic tones, "Rush said some very unfriendly things on the air and look what happened. My God."


Y'know what, you dilapidated, useless old bastard? I'm saying a helluva lot worse things about you right now. Come get me, dickweed.

Once these charges turn out to be bogus, Rush should file a $2 billion lawsuit against the National Enquirer, and name Ed Asswipe as a co-defendant, along with any Demoscummic operative who even thought about having anything to do with it. And Hannity should file charges against Asswipe for making a terroristic threat against him.

That is, if they didn't feel like beating the shit out of these pissants, which would be my preferred option...

Well, it's about time...

Well, it took them long enough - which is to say, having to wait through two walkouts by Cowardcrats and nearly a month of infighting amongst Republicans themselves - but the Texas Legislature finally agreed on a new redistricting map:


After nearly six months of partisan wrangling, exhausted House and Senate negotiators finally reached an agreement Wednesday on redrawing congressional boundaries, according to negotiators.

The breakthrough came Wednesday afternoon following the personal intervention by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay when lawmakers settled the nettlesome question of how to remap West Texas. 


Oh, good Gawd, I can see it now from the Demoscum: "This map was hand-drawn and rubber-stamped by that eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil Republican, TOM DELAY!!!!! This map disenfranchises everyone!!!!!"

The new plan could net Republicans an additional six or seven seats among the state’s 31-member congressional delegation. At present, Democrats hold a 17-15 advantage. 


Which is as it should be. A state that has owned  Texas elective office for years and  consistenly votes Republican more than Demoscum deserves better than to be the minority party in the US Congressional delegation.


Under terms of the deal, Mr. Duncan agreed that his home district would include Deaf Smith County – which he wanted – as a condition for accepting Eastland County – which he did not, according to a person involved in the negotiations.

Eastland County is a Republican stronghold, but one that has favored Rep. Charles Stenholm, a Democrat from Abilene. Mr. Duncan had resisted including the county for fear it might increase Mr. Stenholm’s prospects in a matchup next year against the freshman Republican congressman from Mr. Duncan’s district. 


Actually, I can understand this. Stenholm is one of those old "Blue Dog" Democrats who helped Ronaldus Magnus (a little Rush lingo, there) pass his defense budgets. The only problem is that he's still very liberal in other areas - and, in a contest between incumbents, he'd likely win.

As has been the case for weeks, the biggest obstacle to a deal between House and Senate leaders remained a disagreement over which of their Republican friends should have a shot at representing in Congress some sparsely populated turf in West Texas. 


Yeah, and this pisses me off - at the GOP . Hey, you guys, what the hell were you people doing while the Demoscum were off shirking their duty, hm? Do you bozos not realize that if you hadn't  been able to come up with a map, you'd have given the Demoscum the key to the ammunition vault when it came election time?

Even before Wednesday’s breakthrough, Democrats unleashed well-honed criticism of the remap effort, with a new theme – a grain of hope that redistricting may die under the weight of GOP infighting.

“Here is a group of people who can't agree among themselves," said Rep. Garnet Coleman, D-Houston. "When you get hogs in a trough, they tear each other up to get to what it is they need to have. That's what's going on here.” 


At least they stayed  to fight, Coleman, you cowardly prick. What the hell did you  do, dumbass?

You'll notice, if you look to the right, that the archive listing has changed format slightly.

I was looking at the prospect at the archive listing being longer than the blog.

Nnnnnnnnnnot  a good thing. (grin)

Maintaining this is gonna require more work than I really want to put into the blog, but considering the alternative, it's still a no-brainer.
