No, no...you're killing the wrong person...!

Y'know, city councils have their functions, things they're supposed to do...keep the streets swept, run the pools in the summer, make sure the police chiefs solve crime some other way than by a rolling roadblock...

This, as far as I can tell, isn't one of those functions.

Remember I said there were people who weren't fit to exist? You know, like Bumblefuck?

Well, here's another one, this time from the genre of hard-rock music. Think Jack Kevorkian buggering Marilyn Manson...

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The St. Petersburg city council passed a law Monday designed to scuttle a rock group's plans to feature an onstage suicide.

Good on 'em. Hate like hell that they should have to go out of their way to keep assheads like this from demonstrating their collective mental vacuum, but...

The hard-rock band Hell on Earth had said that a suicide by a terminally ill person would take place during a concert Saturday to raise awareness of right-to-die issues.

Oh, we're aware of your so-called "right to die" issue, you stupid fucknozzles. Aware enough to know that there's no such right.

[...]

Tampa-based Hell of Earth, known for such outrageous onstage stunts as chocolate syrup wrestling and grinding up live rats in a blender, created the furor by announcing the suicide would happen Saturday at the Palace Theater in downtown St. Petersburg.

In other words, Glenn Reynolds has nothing on these bastards.

But the theater's owner, David Hundley, promptly canceled the band's show, and another venue also turned away the event.

At least there's some common sense still left in St. Pete.

Band leader Billy Tourtelot has vowed that the concert and suicide will still take place at an undisclosed location in the city, broadcast live on the band's Web site.

"This show is far more than a typical Hell On Earth performance," Tourtelot said in an e-mail last week. "This is about standing up for what you believe in, and I am a strong supporter of physician-assisted suicide."

Oh, well, so am I, Billy boy. I fully support assisted suicide, too!

Starting with yours. Mind if I assist?

You do mind??? Well, how's about I assist, anyway...?

Stupid fucktards.

Yet more Bloglinkagery...

And our first Trans-Atlantic link is now in place. Check out An Englishman's Castle first chance you get.

Cheerio!!! :-)

PFW recap: Comin' up sevens once again...

Another PFW is in the books. That's three in a row, for the maybe two people besides me that are counting. (grin)

Nebraska 38, Southern Miss 14
Arlington Heights HS 34, Western Hills 33
TCU 13, Arizona 10
Dallas 17, NY Jets 6

I had been planning to go to the Heights game, but a last minute emergency PC repair call daunted those plans.

Which is probably a good thing. Heights came from behind in the last few minutes to win it. Game might've been tied at the end of regulation, had Hills converted its PAT attempt after its last touchdown. Definitely a nail biter.

Which would have left me without any nails to chew for the TCU game. It might be all the injuries, or it might be that Gary Patterson, despite only having lost twice in the last 14 games, isn't a Division I-caliber coach, but TCU looked awful in this game - and, quite honestly, should've lost. Arizona pushed the Frogs all over the field in this game, but couldn't punch it through when it counted.

The Arizona regents saw it the same way I did, too. Yesterday, they fired coach John Mackovic after the Wildcats' 1-4 start.

Injuries continue to pile up for the Purple & White. Starting junior safety Marvin Godbolt, arguably TCU's best defensive player, suffered a knee injury in the second quarter and did not return. It's looking like he may be done for the season; we'll know more today.

On the plus side, it looks like tailback Lonta Hobbs and starting QB Tye Gunn will be available for Saturday's game vs. the Black Knights of Army. And not a moment too soon, if you ask me.

Now: Break up the Cowboys for the good of the game. :-)

Quincy looked good yesterday, once he settled down (several passes sailed on him to start). Troy Hambrick ran with authority (24-127 yds), Antonio Bryant made an unreal, dot-the-I catch in the back of the end zone, and the defense was its usual bend-to-the-nines-but-don't-break self.

That, and Jets' coach Herman Edwards stubbornness in wanting to run the ball when Vinny Testaverde was absolutely torching the Dallas secondary allowed the 'Boys to go 2-for-NY.

So, my teams are 17-1 for the season, and I'm on a roll. Keep the positivity going, as the Hardline (afternoons on KTCK 1310 AM, DFW) might say...
