From the grab-bag...

Today's goodie comes from an old friend...

Bob Blount is a music teacher/raconteur/curmudgeon - sorry, Bob, now that Al Martin's disappeared, someone has to do it (grin) - over in the Carolinas or Virginia or somewhere thereabouts (and I'm sure he'll happily correct me if that's not the case - people seem to take this perverse pleasure in pointing it out whenever I'm wrong... (chuckle))

Anyway, Bob is an old friend from the old days in the LIMBAUGH echo back in Fidonet. (If you don't know what that is, keep your eyes glued to this blog, 'cause I'm gonna post something else of his fairly soon that just about explains it all.) When he starts pounding away on the keyboard, there are very few who are his equal or better.

He sends these masterpieces out to various folks in his email list, and I'm fortunate to have my name thereupon. Stuff he sends me isn't always of particular interest to me, but it's always well thought out, and always well-written.

A few weeks back, Donna was visiting us. She and Kathy (my wife) got to talking about a TV show - I'm not sure which one it was - but it was one of those "Star Search"-type of programs...apparently one for younger contestants. (Maybe it was Fame but I'm not positive about that.) (more...)
