Time for another crack at the PFW...
As you guys know, PFW stands for "Perfect Football Weekend" in Spatulaville.
This week doesn't look good. The Cowgirls have the NY Football Giants on Monday night.
The rest of the weekend doesn't look too bad. The TCU Horned Frogs are off this weekend - good thing, too; QB Tye Gunn is gonna miss 3-5 weeks with a separated shoulder - and Nebraska's Cornhuskers have the annual squash of Troy State at Lincoln.
But tonight...!
My Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets have their longtime arch-rival & nemesis, the Paschal Panthers, over in East Fort Worth. (Neither school is remotely close to the field where they're playing; don't ask me why.)
Therefore, I'm going to issue a SpatulaProclamation: POOOOOOOR PAS-CHAL!!! POOOOOOOOOOR PAS-CHAL!!! (ad infinitum, ad nauseam)
Those of you who went to either school know what I'm talking about. For the Rest Of You Neanderthals (grin), think Yankees-Red Sox, Cowboys-Redskins, Packers-Bears or somesuch. That'd be a good start.
Go Heights!
Go Big Red!
Cowgirls...try not to embarrass yourselves too badly... (sigh)
UPDATE: Oops. It wasn't Troy State - it was Penn State. But, with about 4:00 left in the game, my Huskers are up, 18-10.
Shame, too. I like Penn State, and I like Joe Pa. This is not unlike when you have two babyfaces battle each other in pro wrestling. For whom do you cheer? (sigh)
Oh, and Heights trounced Paschal last night, 30-7. POOOOOOOOR PAS-CHAL!!!! POOOOOOOOOOR... :-)
